Haltwhistle Castle
NY 712-641 Northumberland England

Haltwhistle Castle Haltwhistle Castle is a Norman earth and timber ringwork fortress, which has been badly damaged by later habitation. Sited on a natural hillock, there are the remains of a large rampart on its eastern side. In the 15th century, Musgrove Tower was constructed within the ringwork but sadly the three storey tower house was demolished in 1963. Nearby is Haltwhistle Bastle 1-5, Haltwhistle Tower and 3 miles west is Blenkinsopp Castle.
