Haltwhistle TowerHaltwhistle Tower is a 15th or 16th century three storey stone pele-tower, with a plain corbelled parapet and a gabled caphouse. Originally the tower was free standing, with a northern first floor entrance and an anti-clockwise spiral stair, that gave access to all the floors. The attached three storey wing, is 18th century and in 1996-97 the interior was completely refurbished. Nearby are Haltwhistle Castle and Haltwhistle Bastle 1-5 and 6 miles north-east is Housesteads Bastle.

Haltwhistle Tower is located in the town centre, off Main Street. 21 miles north-east of Carlisle, on the A69.

The site is a privately owned hotel and access is restricted to guests with reservations for an overnight stay or dining in the restaurant, check website for details. The tower is visible from from the road.

There is a car park.
