Fillongley Castle Hills
SP 285-877 Warwickshire England

Fillongley Castle HillsFillongley Castle Hills is a Norman earth and timber ringwork and bailey fortress, founded by Robert Marmion. Standing on low-lying ground, the oval platform supports a strong rampart and with its weak bailey, is encased by a deep ditch. A stream to the south west, probably gave the castle wet defences and the fortification was the predecessor of or siege-castle to Fillongley Castle Yard. 2 miles north-east is Astley Castle and 11 miles south-west is Hobs Moat.
