Haverfordwest Castle was originally an early 12th century fortress, founded by Takard, a Fleming. Of the large outer ward only two turrets survive, the inner ward has a high curtain wall, four towers and two fine ranges of buildings. Visit pending. 6 miles north-east is Wiston Castle and 12 miles south is Pembroke Castle.
