Cardoness CastleCardoness Castle is an impressive late 15th century rectangular keep, founded by the MacCullochs. Of four storeys and a garret, the surrounding courtyard is ruined, with the dilapidated ranges of outhouses. Visit pending. 7 miles west is Carsluith Castle and 8 miles south-east is MacLellan's Castle.

Cardoness Castle is located south of Gatehouse of Fleet, off the A75. 30 miles south-west of Dumfries, on the A75.

The site is owned by Historic Scotland and is open daily, April to September 9:30-6:30pm. October Saturday to Wednesday and November to March Saturday and Sunday 9:30-4:30pm.

There is a car park.
