Earthwork St Andrew's Church
SE 797-671 Yorkshire England
A low circular flat-topped earthwork, encased by the remnants of a ditch, stands by St Andrew's Church in Langton. This small earthwork doesn't offer any clues to its past but there was a castle recorded at Langton in the medieval period. The earthwork platform to the west of the village, is a better possibility. 4 miles south is Acklam Castle and 5 miles south-west is Leppington.
The earthwork located in Langton, west of Cordike Lane. 17 miles north-east of York, on the A64.
The site is freely accessible in daylight hours.
Car parking is by the side of the road.
