Langton Castle is an earthwork enclosure fortress or fortified manor house. The large oval platform, encased by a wide defensive ditch, stands against the slope of Clombe Beck. There was a castle recorded here in the medieval period and this platform is probably its remains but there is an earthwork mound in the village. 4 miles north is Malton Castle and 5 miles south-west is Leppington Castle.
