Leppington
Castle is an earthwork motte and bailey fortress or fortified manorial complex.
The large ward is encased by a defensive ditch but farm buildings have damaged
the low mound. A mile east is Acklam Castle and
10 miles north-west is Sheriff Hutton Motte.
Leppington Castle is located in the village centre, north of Acres Lane. 13 miles north-east of York, on the A116.
The site is visible from a public footpath, which passes the castle from the church.
Car parking is by the side of the road.
