Pomeroy Castle is an imposing late 15th century stone quadrangular fortress, with
the remains of a grand Elizabethan mansion. Visit pending. 3 miles south-west
is Totnes Castle and 4 miles north-east is Compton
Castle.
Berry Pomeroy Castle is located south of Afton, north of the A385. 24 miles south of Exeter, on the A380-A381.
The site is owned by English Heritage and is open daily, July and August 10:00-6:00pm, April to June and September 10:00-5:00pm, October 10:00-4:00pm.
There is a car park.
