The PendsThe Pends is a mid 14th century large stone gatehouse of the Augustinian cathedral-priory, of St Andrews. This gate-hall was the main entrance to the priory and consists of four bays with a cross-wall between the first and second bays. Now a roofless shell with a large vehicular entrance, it has lost most of its upper storey and the gate-hall vaulting, its front façade is also incomplete. At the western end of South Street is West Port and nearby is St Andrews Castle.

The Pends is located in St Andrews, off The Pends. 13 miles south-east of Dundee, on the A92-A91.

The site is visible from the road.
