Castle is a small earthwork motte. The position of the bailey has been lost and
the motte damaged by Peakshole Water. 2 miles west is Peveril
Castle and 4 miles east is Hathersage Castle.
Hope Castle is located in the village centre, on the north bank of Peakshole Water where it crosses Pindale Road. 16 miles west of Sheffield on the A57-A6013-A625.
The site is visible from the road or from the village car park to the west of Pindale Road off the A625.
