Burlow Castle
TQ 530-042 Sussex England

Burlow Castle Burlow Castle is a indeterminate earthwork, which could possibly be the site of a 12th century fortification. Built on a hillock with a steep western cliff to the River Cockmere, the slopes on the other sides form an excellent natural defence. On its large platform, fragments of 12th and 13th century pottery, along with Prehistoric flints from all periods have been found. Nearby is The Rookery Arlington and 10 miles north-west is Lewes Castle.
