Wallace's
Tower Roxburgh
NT 700-304 Roxburghshire Scotland
Wallace's Tower is a 16th century stone tower house, possibly founded by Walter Ker of Cessford. The basement of the rectangular main block is vaulted, the west wing which contained a spiral stair and probably the entrance is totally ruined. On the south angle is an additional square vaulted wing but sadly the tower, only stands to the height of the first floor. 2 miles north is Roxburgh Castle and 8 miles south-west is Timpendean Tower.
Wallace's
Tower is located in the Roxburgh, by the railway embankment. 4 miles south-west
of Kelso, on the A699.
The
site is visible from a public footpath, which runs passed the tower to the River
Teviot.
