Lanton
Tower is a 16th century stone rectangular tower house, of three storeys and a
garret. The vaulted basement is pierced by two gun-loops, that face the courtyard
and the upper storeys have been altered, when integrated with a later mansion house.
A mile north-east is Timpendean Tower and 2 miles
south-east is Jedburgh Castle.
Lanton
Tower is located in the village centre, off the A698. 2 miles north-west of Jedburgh,
on B6358.
The
site is visible from the road.
