Law Mount is probably a medieval earthwork motte and bailey fortress, sited above the River Annick. Also described as a Bronze Age tumulus, the low circular flat-topped mound, with traces of an eastern ditch, commands the summit of a low ridge. To the west, a circular level platform, is encased by a silted-up bailey ditch and the slightly cut-back end slope of the ridge, also gives the site a defensive look. A mile west is Chapel Hill and a mile north at Stewarton is Corsehill Castle.
