Borve Castle is a large 14th century stone rectangular hall house of three storeys, founded by Amy MacRuari. The castle occupied a promontory site flanking a sea-inlet and originally would have been surrounded by an enclosure. In the centre of the south wall, a small gatehouse guards the main entrance, which is also protected by a draw-bar. Except for a window at the west end of the south wall, there are hardly any other visible features. Visit pending.
