NC 852-008 Sutherland Scotland

Dunrobin Castle Dunrobin Castle was originally an early 14th century stone keep and courtyard fortress, founded by earls of Sutherland. In the 17th century, the castle was altered to make an E-plan tower house, of three storeys and a garret. This house was then absorbed in the construction of a Scottish baronial mansion, in the 19th and 20th century. Visit pending. 14 miles south-west is Skibo Castle.
