Ninebanks
Tower is a small stone late medieval four storey tower, which was part of a complex
manor house. The top storey and the stair turret are 16th century additions, built
for Sir Thomas Dacre and the raising of the road has put the basement below ground
level. 3 miles south is Whiteley Shield Bastle House
and 7 miles north is Staward Pele.
Ninebanks Tower is located in the hamlet, off the A686. 12 miles north-east of Alston, on the A689 and local road.
The site is visible from the road.
Car parking is by the side of the road.
