Ninebanks Tower
NY 782-532 Northumberland England

Ninebanks Tower Ninebanks Tower is an early 16th century stone rectangular tower, founded by Sir Thomas Dacre. Standing on the right bank of the West Allen river, the small four storey tower was originally adjacent to the eastern gable of an earlier manor house. The top storey and the stair turret are late 16th century additions and the raising of the road has put the basement below ground level. With traces of a carved coat of arms to the outside and because of its slight proportions, its unlikely to have served as a defensible structure and was possibly a lookout tower. 3 miles south is Whiteley Shield Bastle and 7 miles north is Staward Pele.
