Blagill Bastle is a complex stone defensible farmhouse, which has been substantially altered, with a possible small tower, absorbed within this extended two storey bastle house. The strong walls, with a removable stair up to the living quarters and a ground floor for stores and their livestock, provided a shelter from the cross-border reivers, until help arrived. 2 miles south-east is High Lovelady Shield Bastle.
