The Battle of Flodden Field 1513

The battle was fought in the boggy ground, at the base of Piper's Hill and Branxton Hill, on the 9th of September 1513, between the English with Thomas Howard, earl of Surrey at its centre and the Scottish with King James IV at its centre. It was a decisive victory for the English, with the Scottish dead including twelve earls, fifteen lords, many clan chiefs, an archbishop and above all King James IV of Scotland.
