Wymondley Castle Wymondley Castle is a 12th century earthwork motte and bailey fortress, built within a large rectangular Romano-British earthwork. The small low motte, is encased by a ditch and the bailey is surrounded by a strong rampart and a wet ditch. The attached large enclosure, is encased by a ditch and may be the site of a fortified Medieval manorial complex. 6 miles north-west is Pirton Castle and 8 miles south-east is Walkern Castle.

Wymondley Castle is located in Great Wymondley, off Graveley Road. 10 miles north-east of Luton, on the A505-A602.

The site is freely accessible in daylight hours.

Car parking is by the side of the road.
