Little
Missenden Castle is a small earthwork motte and bailey fortress, founded by William
Mantel. The low motte, is encased by the remnants of its defensive ditch and counterscarp
bank but the southern bailey platform, is only just visible. 5 miles north-east
is Ashley Green House and 6 miles north-east is
Hawridge Court.
Little Missenden Castle is located west of Hyde Heath, off Chalk Lane. 13 miles west of Walford, on the M25-A404-A413.
The site is visible from the road.
Car parking is by the side of the road.
