Middlehope
Castle is a small earthwork motte and bailey fortress, badly mutilated
by a sunken lane. On one side are the remains of a low motte and ditch
and on the other side is part of the bailey rampart and ditch. 3 miles
north-east is Rushbury Castle
and 5 miles south-east is Broncroft
Castle.
Middlehope Castle is located north of Middlehope, a sunken lane cut through the middle of the site. 19 miles south of Shrewsbury on the A49-B4371.
The site is visible from the banks of the lane. Car parking is by the side of the road.
