Middlehope Castle
SO 498-886 Shropshire England

Middlehope Castle Middlehope Castle is a very small badly mutilated earthwork motte and bailey fortress. Sited upon a small ridge and bisected by a sunken lane, are the remains of a low motte, which stood within a banked and ditched once circular bailey. The earthworks have been reduced and spread by ploughing but its incomplete construction indicates that the castle was never finished. 3 miles north-east is Rushbury Castle and 5 miles south-east is Broncroft Castle.
