Corbet Castle was a Norman stone keep and bailey fortress but the site
was modified in the 16th century, to include a great Elizabethan mansion
house. This magnificent ruin also has a small rectangular keep, built
about 1200, a square gatehouse and turrets flanking the curtain wall.
Moreton Corbet Castle is located in the village centre, off Wem Road. 7 miles north-east of Shrewsbury on the A53-B5063.
The site is owned by English Heritage and is freely accessible in daylight hours. Car parking is by the side of the road.
