Withern Castle
TF 427-821 Lincolnshire England

Withern Castle Withern Castle was originally a medieval fortified manorial complex, which was altered during the Civil War. The large trapezoidal platform, is encased by a strong rampart, with a wide steep-sided ditch. There is evidence of turrets and platforms, on the angles of the rampart, which may have supported gun emplacements. A mile south-west is Toot Hill and 14 miles south-west is Bolingbroke Castle.
