Egmarton Castle is a medieval earthwork motte and bailey fortress, which has been damaged by farm animals. The motte is encased by a deep ditch and to the west are traces of the bailey rampart and ditch. The probable entrance to the bailey, is on the north side but farm buildings have obscured the south-east side. 2 miles south-west is Laxton Castle and 4 miles to the north is Kingshaugh Camp.
