Malpas
Castle is a dominating earthwork motte, founded by Robert de Malopassu. The large
11th century motte has a wide plateau but the position of the bailey has been
lost. 5 miles north-west is Shocklach Castle
and 9 miles north-east is Beeston Castle.
Malpas Castle is located in the village centre, off Church Street. 15 miles south of Chester, on the A41-B5069.
The site is visible from the church.
